Low Voltage Technician

We are looking for a customer-service driven Low Voltage Technician / Installer. This is a hands-on position that will require commercial/industrial Low Voltage installation ability along with the willingness to learn new technical skills related to the Electrical and IT industries.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform commercial Low Voltage duties
• Perform basic Cabling including but not limited to Category and specialty cable installation and termination
• Installing racks, phones, speakers, Cameras, A/V equipment, locks
• Interfacing with co-workers and direct supervisor
• Keeping track of issued tools and equipment
• Communicating clearly with contractors, builders, etc. on jobsites
• Cleaning up all waste and trash when upon completion of each task and leaving the jobsite cleaner than when arriving onsite
• Saw, drill, cut, and grind as needed
• Clean up job site and company vehicles daily
• Receive and keep up with material for jobs

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Valid driver license and reliable mode of transportation is a must
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
• Team Oriented, Dependable, trustworthy and honest
• Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines
• Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely
• Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word
• Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures
• Must have dependable transportation to work
• Must have smartphone to enter job time records via App.
• Willingness to travel during the work week.

Skills:

• Advanced Computer Skills – Candidate must be familiar with different operating systems (Windows, Apple, Linux), Microsoft Office, CRM software, Basic Networking skills (IP Addresses, Command Prompt, and Remote Access Software)
• Advanced Smartphone – Candidate must be familiar with iOS and Android operating systems. Networking skills using a mobile device is preferred.
• Experience in reading/understanding architecture, electrical, structural & AV systems drawings
• Attention to detail
• Proficiency in operation of powered and manual hand tools including drills, saws, screw drivers, etc.
• Clean driving record and valid Driver’s License required

Special Skills/Equipment:

• Must possess working knowledge of powered man-lifts.

Physical Demands:

• Repetitive tasks such as bending, stooping, stretching, pulling, crawling, climbing, digging, trenching, and ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Requires frequent moving and installing of heavy equipment
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range
• Requires ability to perform physical duties listed above for extensive periods of time
• Ability to work on a ladder and elevated platforms
• Able to work in non-heated or cooled construction sites for extended periods of time
• Must be able to work at elevated heights of twenty-five feet or more and small confined spaces
• Physical and mental demands are dictated by job needs, which may change from site to site
• Ability to dress appropriately for the working environment and exercise good personal hygiene
